John Healey is the
Labour Party candidate for the Wentworth and Dearne constituency. "This is set to be the closest election for two decades. It’s a straight choice – do you want Labour in government or the Tories back again? I’m proud to have served our area as Labour MP for 13 years. I always remember that I work for you, which is why I’ve run a local office open to the public and held advice surgeries across the constituency to help over 3,000 people who contact me each year. Together we’ve also won campaigns to bring extra investment for jobs into the Dearne, set up the skate board park in Wath, stop opencast coalmining in Rawmarsh, clampdown on antisocial motorbikes in Bramley, get money back from solicitors for ex-miners and win military medals for Suez veterans in the early ‘50." |

"And well as being a local MP, I’ve been fortunate also to be a Labour government minister. I always work hard to link local concerns with national decisions I take, for instance on: building new council housing, introducing free bus travel for pensioners, money for coalfields regeneration and fair government funding for Rotherham and Barnsley councils. But there is still much more to do for our area. This is why I am asking for your support for Labour at the Election." |
